Cooper Flagg is beginning to find his footing in Dallas. After a challenging start to his rookie season, he has adapted to the NBA’s pace and is starting to showcase his abilities.
The Mavericks may have a promising asset in Flagg, especially considering the turmoil following one of the most unusual trades in recent memory.
Last year, Dallas traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers in exchange for Max Christie, Anthony Davis, and a first-round pick in 2029. The aftermath has been difficult. While some point to Flagg as a reason for hope, doubts still exist.
DeMarcus Cousins recently shared his thoughts on FanDuel’s “Run It Back,” expressing that he’s not yet ready to compare Flagg to what the Mavericks lost.
“It’s hard to make judgment on a rookie in his rookie season,” Cousins stated. “I think everyone sees that this kid has a lot of potential in the NBA, but can he become a Luka Doncic in the next three to four years? We still don’t know.”
