As discussions centered around a famous player returning for Monday’s game between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, a rookie stole the spotlight.

Celtics rookie Hugo Gonzalez spoiled Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s comeback after over a month, delivering a performance reminiscent of Larry Bird’s debut season, leading Boston to a solid 108-81 win.

Antetokounmpo managed a typical double-double, scoring 19 points, but he struggled with a shooting percentage of 38.9%, falling short compared to Gonzalez’s impressive display.

Hugo Gonzalez excels both offensively and defensively

The 20-year-old Gonzalez recorded 18 points, 16 rebounds, one assist, three steals, and two blocks. He shot 46.7% from the field, making 7 of 15 attempts, including three successful three-pointers.
