The Boston Celtics welcomed back one All-Star while losing another for a significant time period.
Jayson Tatum returned on Friday and played well in a 120-100 victory against the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden in Boston. After a missed dunk attempt, he regained his rhythm in the second half and finished the game without any problems.
In contrast, Nikola Vucevic faced an injury early in the game. The Montenegrin player hurt his hand while trying to gain position and left the game after just under two minutes in the first quarter, visibly in pain.
ESPN’s Shams Charania later reported that Vucevic fractured his ring finger. He is scheduled for surgery on Saturday, and it is expected that he will be out for about a month.
