Kevin Durant was on a streak, hitting 36 consecutive free throws before his chance to tie the game against the Houston Rockets in overtime. He missed that shot, missed another, but then made one he tried to miss on purpose, resulting in a 115-113 loss.
Despite missing Steph Curry and Moses Moody, the Warriors put up a strong fight against the Rockets. In the final moments, Brandin Podziemski and De’Anthony Melton scored key points for the Warriors, overshadowing the Rockets’ All-Star.
Kevin Durant’s Struggles Against His Former Team
Durant scored 23 points and had four steals in the game, but he wasn’t able to make an impact at the end of regulation. His former teammate Draymond Green effectively prevented him from getting the ball, leading Durant to attempt only two shots in the fourth quarter.
He did make a three-pointer in overtime that narrowed the Warriors’ lead to one point after the Rockets grabbed a missed free throw. On the next play, Durant drew a shooting foul from Melton, setting the stage for his critical miss.
