The NBA may have canceled Magic City Night, but the Atlanta Hawks are on a winning streak. On Monday, they faced the Orlando Magic, who were on a seven-game winning streak, and won 124-112, marking their 10th consecutive victory.
Guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker achieved a career-best with 41 points on 12-of-22 shooting, including 9-of-15 from three-point range. Forward Jalen Johnson had a strong performance as well, scoring 24 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and providing 13 assists, marking his 13th triple-double of the season.
Atlanta Hawks defeat Orlando Magic during canceled Magic City Night
Monday was meant to be Magic City Night, celebrating Atlanta’s well-known strip club. Although the NBA canceled the event, some elements like the club’s lemon pepper wings and a halftime performance by rapper T.I. persisted.
Despite the league’s decision, Atlanta made it a day worth celebrating. Their 10-game win streak is the longest currently in the league. Before this run began, the Hawks had struggled, holding a 14-23 record from December 1, 2025, to February 20, 2026.
The recent performances tell a different story. The win on Tuesday was their ninth by a double-digit margin. The Hawks have averaged 122.9 points per game during this streak, but their defense has also played a crucial role. They have held opponents to an average of 104.8 points per game and managed to keep four teams under 100 points, matching the total from their first 58 games when they allowed 118.6 points per game.
As the playoffs approach, the Hawks have turned their season around impressively. While Magic City Night may be off the schedule, halting Atlanta’s momentum will be challenging.
