The Charlotte Hornets achieved their first six-game winning streak in ten years. Despite facing a blizzard, a 22-point deficit, and an injury to their star player, they managed to extend their streak to seven victories.

LaMelo Ball returned after a collision to score 24 points, leading the Hornets to a 102-95 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in an unusual Monday afternoon game. The Hornets had a slow start due to snowstorms that changed the schedule, but they ultimately secured their longest win streak since 2016, the last time they made the playoffs.

LaMelo Ball bounced back after hitting his coach

The Hornets got off to a quick start, taking a 7-0 lead while their defense held the Pelicans to five missed shots in a row. However, trouble arose just three minutes into the game when Ball went for a loose ball and collided with his coach.

Hornets’ head coach Charles Lee was reaching for a wayward pass from Miles Bridges, not realizing that Ball was moving in the same direction. This resulted in a collision that caused a cut above Ball’s eye, sidelining him for a significant part of the first quarter as the Pelicans went on a 15-6 run.
