Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jaylon Tyson has learned the importance of respecting “The King” at his old home.
The Cavaliers (29-20) defeated the Los Angeles Lakers (28-18) 129-99 in a home game on Wednesday night. Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell scored 25 points on 9-of-21 shooting, along with five assists and five rebounds.
In a postgame interview with ESPN’s Jorge Sedano, Tyson remarked, “[Cleveland] is Donovan Mitchell’s city now.”
Tyson later apologized, realizing that his statement might have been seen as a jab at Lakers forward LeBron James, who played for the Cavaliers from 2003-10 and again from 2014-18.
