Joel Embiid was not impressed with a fellow athlete from Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their Opening Day game against the New York Mets on Thursday. The Mets took advantage of Pittsburgh’s pitcher, Paul Skenes, who was removed from the game after just two outs in the first inning. New York ended the game with an 11-7 victory at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y.

Skenes faced challenges from his defense during that tough first inning. Pirates center fielder Oneil Cruz made several mistakes that led to four runs. These errors happened on what should have been easy fly balls.

Reacting to Cruz’s mistakes, Philadelphia 76ers player Embiid shared a post on X with a suggestion for the outfielder. He humorously indicated that Cruz might be better off as a designated hitter.

“Cruz, get ready to learn DH buddy!!” Embiid tweeted.
