Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, who has been sidelined for the past three games due to a strained right oblique, is expected to miss at least four more games due to the injury, as reported by Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.

The 76ers confirmed that Embiid did not practice on Friday and has not done any on-court work since the injury. He is scheduled for a reevaluation in about one week, meaning he will miss the games on Saturday in Atlanta, Monday in Cleveland, and Tuesday against Memphis, as well as likely Thursday in Detroit.

This season, Embiid has played only 33 games due to several injuries affecting his knee, ankle, shin, and oblique. While he hasn’t returned to his previous MVP-level play, he has performed better than last season, averaging 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 31.2 minutes per game, along with a shooting line of .495/.318/.858.

Additionally, the 76ers provided more injury updates on Friday. Forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is expected to play on Saturday after missing two games due to illness, while rookie guard VJ Edgecombe did not practice on Friday.

Edgecombe left Tuesday’s game against San Antonio early with a lumbar contusion and missed Wednesday’s game against Utah. While his status for Saturday has not been confirmed, not practicing on Friday likely affects his chances of playing.
