LeBron James’ time with the Los Angeles Lakers is seeing a positive turn, which may lessen the chances of him leaving this summer.
James’ willingness to take on a smaller role has contributed to a nine-game winning streak, making the Lakers a strong playoff contender again. Sam Amick from The Athletic suggests that this recent success could encourage James to stay for another season.
Amick points out that the earlier rumors about James leaving, largely due to a lack of chemistry with Luka Doncic, have faded as the Lakers have performed better in their last 12 games.
However, it’s still uncertain if James will stay with the Lakers. While many believe he will play at least one more season, his chances of staying could improve if the team ends the season on a high note. If he does decide to leave, Amick notes the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are the teams most often mentioned in connection with him.
Though James’ usage rate has dropped, he is still averaging 21.1 points per game this season, proving he can still compete. The main question now is where he will play next.
