In recent episodes of LeBron James’ podcast, “Mind the Game,” viewers may have noticed a significant change: the wine glasses are empty.
James shared with co-host Steve Nash that missing training camp and the first 14 games of the season led him to feel the need to “sacrifice something.” He chose to give up two of his favorite treats: wine and chocolate chip cookies.
LeBron James has developed a keen interest in wine
James originally started his podcast with JJ Redick. After Redick left to assist James as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, the podcast continued with Nash. A major aspect of the show was their discussions on NBA basketball, often while enjoying fine wines. However, this feature has been missing this season.
During his recovery from a back injury, James decided to “take something out.” He made the commitment to stop drinking wine—and all alcohol—throughout November, and also avoided desserts. He has continued with this abstinence into December.
