Luka Doncic and LeBron James have been playing together for a full season, and their partnership is gaining strength in Los Angeles. The initial decision to team them up generated a lot of interest, and Doncic has settled into his role alongside James.
Some were skeptical about whether two top players could coexist effectively. However, they have shown that it is indeed possible. The Lakers remain competitive in the Western Conference, despite ongoing issues with their defense.
Much of the discussion around the team has focused on James, with some suggesting he should retire or let Doncic take the lead. This makes Doncic’s recent remarks particularly noteworthy.

In a recent episode of “Cousins’ with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, Doncic discussed the early challenges, the adjustment phase, and how they have been learning to play together.
“Being part of his journey has been amazing. I grew up watching him play. My first game against him felt like a dream come true. Now, being his teammate is incredible,” Doncic shared.
“When he was injured at the start of the 2025-26 season, our first games together after his return didn’t go well. But now that we’ve played together for a while, it’s improving.”
