Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama drew a warm reception Sunday night at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game held at Intuit Dome.
Accompanied by their daughter Sasha, the couple was featured on the arena’s video board early in the event. They stood to wave as fans celebrated with a long ovation. Video footage showed President Obama reaching out for a ball that had gone out of bounds near their seats.
Barack Obama, known for his love of basketball, has attended various NBA events since leaving the presidency. He also greeted players, including Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.
This appearance followed an active weekend for Obama around All-Star events in the Los Angeles area. The 2026 game showcased top talent with a new USA vs. World format at the Clippers’ Intuit Dome, featuring LeBron James in his record 21st All-Star Game.
For many attendees and viewers at home, the Obamas’ presence at the game became a highlight of the night.
