Forward Paul George’s progress with the Philadelphia 76ers has taken a major setback.
On Saturday, the NBA announced a 25-game suspension for George due to a violation of the league’s anti-drug policy, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
George acknowledged the suspension in a statement, explaining that the violation occurred while he was seeking treatment for mental health.
“I made the mistake of taking an improper medication,” George stated. He added, “I take full responsibility for my actions and apologize to the Sixers organization, my teammates, and the Philadelphia fans for my poor decision-making during this process.”
