Happy 63rd birthday to 11-time NBA All-Star, 1992-93 MVP, gold medal winner from the 1992 Olympic Dream Team, and a notable figure in NBA history, Charles Barkley!
Known as “The Round Mound of Rebound,” he was selected fifth overall in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers after playing at Auburn. Barkley became one of the top players of his generation. Throughout his 16-year career, he averaged 22.1 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, despite never winning an NBA Finals. He is also remembered for a famous quote during the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
When asked about Team USA’s rival Angola, he simply stated, “I don’t know anything about Angola, but Angola’s in trouble.”
Today, Barkley is a prominent figure on NBA coverage through the show “Inside the NBA,” where he shares light-hearted moments with Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie Johnson, and Kenny Smith.
This brings us to today’s quiz. Barkley recorded 20 regular-season triple-doubles in his career. Can you name the players who also achieved at least 20 regular-season triple-doubles within five minutes?
Good luck!
