Veteran guard Mike Conley, who was traded from the Chicago Bulls to the Charlotte Hornets, was expected not to play for the Hornets. After a two-week period, he has been bought out and is officially returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Conley started the season with the Timberwolves but was traded on February 3 in a salary move. He was then included in a deal that sent him and Coby White to Charlotte for Collin Sexton. The Hornets quickly waived Conley, allowing him to return to Minneapolis on a smaller contract.
Now in his 19th NBA season, Conley is posting career-low numbers in many categories. However, his leadership is valuable to the Timberwolves as they aim for a strong playoff run.
