Nina Westbrook, Russell Westbrook’s wife, shared a troubling message she received this week.

On Thursday night, she posted a screenshot on her Instagram Story of a threatening email from an upset gambler. The email criticized her husband’s performance and had a subject line that was inappropriate.

“Your husband is terrible and can’t even score 10 points. I hope you both die in a car crash,” the message read (profanity edited).

Nina commented on the screenshot, “The negative effects of sports betting. It brings out the worst in people.”

Russell Westbrook, now with the Sacramento Kings, had a tough game on Thursday against the Orlando Magic, scoring only five points as the Kings lost 131-94.

As legalized sports gambling grows, angry messages from bettors have sadly become more frequent. This issue is especially sensitive for Nina, who has previously spoken out about receiving similar threats.
