To stop Victor Wembanyama, other teams have tried to be tough against him and the San Antonio Spurs. This approach didn’t work for the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

Wembanyama recorded six blocks and grabbed 17 rebounds, contributing to the Spurs’ 114-103 win, marking their ninth consecutive victory. Despite the Pistons’ physical play, Stephon Castle managed to score 16 points and provide 11 assists in a standout performance for the young Spurs.

Teams try to push around Victor Wembanyama

The Spurs hold the NBA’s third-best record after not making the playoffs for the past six seasons. Wembanyama, standing at 7-foot-4, is tough to defend, although opposing teams attempt to push him due to his 235-pound frame.

Earlier in February, Draymond Green had a tense exchange with Wembanyama, pushing him while trying to gain position. It worked once, but not for the entire game, as Wembanyama ended up with 26 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-17 shooting.
