The Golden State Warriors have felt Stephen Curry’s absence more than ever this season.

Even at age 38, the four-time NBA champion remains influential and effective on the court. This highlights both the current state of the team’s roster and Curry’s exceptional talent.

As a result, the Warriors are looking at a lengthy rebuilding process when he eventually retires.

Fortunately, General Manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the fans can be reassured that Curry plans to stay for a while longer. In a recent interview with The Athletic, he stated that he is far from finished.

Stephen Curry isn’t considering retirement yet

“I think your body is the first point of information,” Curry said. “When I’m out there on the court right now, I still get lost in the fun. It’s still my happy place. The competition, the camaraderie, the chasing something that matters — that still gets me going. And I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.”

This season has not been without its challenges, as Curry has faced injuries similar to those when he debuted in the league.

Nonetheless, he is averaging 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 4.5 three-pointers per game, with shooting percentages of 46.8% from the floor and 39.1% from beyond the arc, as reported by Basketball Reference.

While he may not stay in the league as long as LeBron James, Curry is willing to endure the physical demands of being a top NBA player for as long as his competitive spirit remains strong.
