Happy 49th birthday to three-time NBA All-Star and 1999-2000 Rookie of the Year, Steve Francis!
Francis was picked second overall in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies after his time at Maryland, and was quickly traded to Houston. In his rookie season, he averaged 18.0 points and 6.6 assists. In 2001, he was named an All-Star for the first time, earning three consecutive selections before being traded to Orlando after the 2003-04 season, which brought Tracy McGrady to Houston.
Francis played for four more seasons but only participated in 10 games in his final year due to a torn quad in 2007-08.
Now, here’s a quiz for you. Can you name the NBA Rookie of the Year winners from the NBA’s Lottery Era in six minutes?
