On Friday night, Anthony Edwards showcased why many believe he is set to dominate the NBA in the years ahead. He scored 40 points, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to their 35th win of the season.

In Minnesota’s 122-111 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Edwards delivered one of his standout performances of the 2025-26 season, marking his first game after the All-Star break. He shot 53.3% from the field, hitting 16 of 39 attempts, including five three-pointers.

Anthony Edwards’ Impact on Timberwolves’ History

Edwards’ 40-point game was his 27th career instance of scoring at least 40 points. As he reaches the midpoint of his sixth NBA season, he has already achieved 14 more 40-point games than any other Timberwolves player, with Karl-Anthony Towns in second place at 13.

This season, he has recorded eight games with 40 points or more, with his highest being a remarkable 55 points against the San Antonio Spurs on January 17.
