Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue is working to keep his players focused and driven after recent trades. The team has let go of key players such as James Harden and Ivica Zubac, leading Kawhi Leonard to say the season felt “over.”

Lue made it clear that the team is still aiming for the playoffs. “We’re playing to win,” he stated. “It doesn’t matter who is on the floor; we’re trying to win. There’s no other reason to play.”

This clarification is unusual so late in the season, but it reflects the Clippers’ current situation. Following their loss to the Lakers, the team’s record is now 27-29, placing them ninth in the Western Conference. This position allows them to participate in the play-in tournament, but they need to maintain a consistent performance in their remaining games.

Leonard’s feelings are understandable, particularly given his impressive average of 27.8 points per game this season.
