Tyrese Maxey had a standout performance against the Miami Heat on Thursday, scoring 28 points along with 11 assists and five steals, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 124-117 victory at Wells Fargo Center.

This win improved the Sixers’ record to 33-26 as they managed to maintain their composure after a challenging third quarter. Joel Embiid set the pace early by scoring the first seven points for Philadelphia with a layup over Bam Adebayo.

Maxey quickly got into the action, nailing a few long jumpers before finding his rhythm. As the first quarter came to a close, he hit a step-back three-pointer, tying Allen Iverson’s franchise record of 885 made threes.

He soon broke the record, prompting the scoreboard to celebrate the achievement while the crowd responded with chants of “MVP.” Maxey continued his strong performance by sinking his fifth three-pointer of the quarter, finishing with 20 points in the first frame. After the quarter, the Sixers played a tribute video to honor his accomplishment.
