The Golden State Warriors have faced significant injuries this season, losing both Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry to serious knee issues. Now, 23-year-old Moses Moody has also suffered a severe injury.
During the closing moments of their 137-131 overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks, Moody stole the ball from rookie Cooper Flagg with the Warriors ahead by five points and just a minute remaining. As he made his way for an easy dunk or layup, his left knee seemed to give out, causing him to fall to the ground in pain.
Warriors’ Season Hampered by Injuries
Butler tore his ACL on January 19 and is not expected to return until 2026. Curry has been sidelined since injuring his knee on January 30. Al Horford, Seth Curry, and new center Kristaps Porzingis have also struggled to stay on the court.
While Moody’s injury may not carry the same weight as that of their All-Stars, he was a reliable player for the team. Known for his solid perimeter defense, he achieved a career-best three-point shooting rate of 40.2%, alongside improvements in his scoring, rebounding, and assists.
With Moody’s injury, the Warriors are now leaning heavily on rookies like No. 56 pick Will Richard and undrafted guard LJ Cryer, as well as two-way player Pat Spencer, as they navigate this challenging situation.
