The excitement surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues to build as it becomes the first edition to be hosted by three different countries. With the USA, Canada, and Mexico preparing for the international event, a CONMEBOL nation has emerged as the first to secure a spot in the tournament.

Ahead of their clash against Brazil in Buenos Aires, Argentina has become the first CONMEBOL nation to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Lionel Messi’s side joins Japan, New Zealand, and Iran as the fourth non-host team to secure their ticket.

Sitting at the top of the table, Argentina dominated the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers, earning 28 points from 13 games, with 9 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses. After Bolivia failed to defeat Uruguay, the Albiceleste secured automatic qualification five games before the conclusion of the competition.
