Napoli secured their first points in the Champions League season by defeating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in a crucial match on Wednesday night. Rasmus Hojlund scored both goals, supported by two assists from Kevin De Bruyne, proving vital for the Serie A champions.

After a shaky start in Europe, the team regained their rhythm, energizing fans at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Hojlund, who joined Napoli from Manchester United this season, reaffirmed his status as one of Europe’s top young strikers.

Hojlund scored his first goal in the 36th minute. De Bruyne advanced the ball from the midfield and delivered an excellent pass to the 22-year-old, who managed to beat Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Silva. However, concerns arose among home fans when Luis Suárez equalized for Sporting with a penalty goal in the 62nd minute.

Just when it seemed Napoli might falter, De Bruyne stepped up again. The Belgian delivered a perfect cross into the box, allowing Hojlund to complete his double with a clinical header.
