Liverpool Moves to Sign RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande Amid PSG Interest

Premier League side Liverpool is taking initial steps to secure the signing of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande while PSG continues to monitor the situation.

According to a report by transfer insider Dean Jones of Flashscore, Liverpool aims to finalize a permanent deal for Diomande before the 2026 World Cup. However, they anticipate stiff competition from PSG and Bayern Munich.

In an earlier update, the 19-year-old confirmed he will remain with the German club for next season, citing his contract. I’m under contract in Leipzig, and I enjoy playing here. But after that, nobody knows what will happen. Everyone has ambitions, including me. My dream is to play at the highest level possible, he stated.

While Leipzig would prefer to keep the teenage sensation for another year, they may be tempted by offers around €100 million. The recent exit of Mohamed Salah from Liverpool has intensified talks for Diomande, but Paris Saint-Germain remains keen on the player’s profile, age, and versatility in attack.

The Ivorian international had a standout season with the Saxony-based club, netting 13 goals and providing 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

Currently, PSG has not officially pursued Diomande, but they are observing the developments surrounding the player closely. The decision of Les Parisiens to target the forward will depend on how their squad shapes up after the Champions League final against Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is also considering alternative options, including Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon and Bradley Barcola from PSG, should they fail to secure Diomande.
