Kochi: Amul is organizing the Sports.com Super League in Kerala, where Force Kochi FC has faced its seventh loss. In the first match of the seventh round held at the Ernakulam Maharajas Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram Combats FC defeated Force Kochi with a single goal. Khalid Roshan scored the winning goal in the first half. Both Kochi’s Rijon Jose and Thiruvananthapuram’s Shareef Khan received red cards during the match. Thiruvananthapuram moved up to third place with 10 points from seven matches, while Kochi, having lost all seven games, has fallen to the bottom of the table without any points, losing its semifinal hopes.
In the eighth minute, Thiruvananthapuram’s Otimar Bispo had a chance to score but sent the ball over the crossbar. In the seventeenth minute, Thiruvananthapuram netted the goal when Abdul Badish assisted Khalid Roshan, who finished beautifully (1-0). Khalid had to leave the match due to an injury in the first half, and Mohamed Shafi came on as his replacement.
At the start of the second half, Kochi substituted Mark Vargas for Amos Kiriya. In the 61st minute, Thiruvananthapuram’s Paulo Victor missed a golden opportunity to score. In the 66th minute, Kochi’s Rijon Jose received a red card for fouling Paulo Victor outside the box. Kochi’s attempts to score, including a substitution of Nijo Gilbert for Romario Jesuraj, went in vain. In the 89th minute, Thiruvananthapuram’s Shareef Khan also received a red card following a second yellow card.
On Tuesday (November 18), the second match of the seventh round will feature Thrissur Magic FC facing Calicut FC at the Thrissur Corporation Stadium, kicking off at 7:30 PM.
