Chelsea has seen several players depart during the January transfer window, with more expected to leave this summer.

Anselmino might still be in Chelsea’s future plans, but the club is likely to part ways with George and Disasi. Raheem Sterling’s exit was confirmed after he agreed to end his contract.

In addition to George and Disasi, Chelsea may also consider moving one of their goalkeepers in the upcoming transfer window.

Filip Jorgensen is currently the second-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea, behind Robert Sanchez.

This situation might change soon, as the club is considering Mike Penders for a first-team position after his loan at Strasbourg.

Simon Phillips noted on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Penders’ return is part of the club’s strategy. If he rejoins the squad, it likely means Jorgensen will leave at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old attracted interest from other clubs last month but remained at Chelsea. However, a move this summer seems unavoidable if Penders returns.

If he stays at Stamford Bridge under Liam Rosenior, he risks dropping to third choice. Moving away could be his best option for consistent playing time.

If Penders goes on another loan and Jorgensen stays, Rosenior likely won’t see it as a negative.

The Chelsea manager has been impressed with Jorgensen’s performance.

About a recent injury Jorgensen sustained, Rosenior mentioned: “Unfortunately, he picked something up. I’m devastated for him, because he’s really impressed me, both in matches and training.”

Jorgensen, a £20m Denmark international, believes he deserves the No.1 position. Whether Penders stays or leaves this summer, Jorgensen’s exit seems probable.

Even if Sanchez were to leave one day and the club doesn’t sign a replacement or promote Penders, Jorgensen would still compete with Lucas Bergstrom.
