Jesse Lingard, the former Manchester United player, is now a free agent after his contract with FC Seoul ended. During his two years there, he scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in 67 appearances.
Lingard finds himself without a club for the second time since leaving Nottingham Forest in 2023, but there is already interest in bringing him back to Europe.
Some unnamed Italian clubs are reportedly interested in signing him, but a return to United is also a possibility.
According to the Daily Mail, Feyenoord has reached out to Lingard and his team about a potential move.
If he joins Feyenoord, he will play under the management of former United striker Robin van Persie.
Van Persie has faced criticism lately due to Feyenoord’s inability to compete with PSV, having lost 3-0 to the reigning champions over the weekend.
Despite this, the Rotterdam club is currently in second place, 17 points behind the league leaders.
Attacking midfielder Sem Steijn is currently injured and has no set return date, leading van Persie to rely on defensive midfielder In-beom Hwang in that role.
With Lingard’s natural ability as an attacking midfielder and his current free-agent status, this could be a significant opportunity for Feyenoord to enhance their squad.
