The 2025/26 season for Liverpool has been challenging. Disappointing losses and inconsistency have left the team struggling. The tragic passing of Diogo Jota has understandably impacted the squad. New players are having difficulty adjusting, leaving Arne Slot’s team in sixth place. With fewer chances for success, the manager has outlined “three clear priorities” for the rest of the season.

Liverpool Looks to End the 2025/26 Season Positively

Arne Slot Outlines ‘Three Clear Priorities’

As the sixth-placed team, Liverpool still aims for a top-four finish, having secured two wins, two losses, and one draw in their last five Premier League matches.

They wrapped up third in the league phase of the Champions League and will face Brighton on February 14 in the FA Cup fourth round.

Looking forward, Slot has emphasized their areas of focus:

“We have three clear priorities this season: the FA Cup, Champions League qualification, and the Champions League itself. However, I am conscious of my limited options regarding the squad.”

Slot Addresses Load Management Challenges

When discussing load management issues, Slot stated:

“Managing player load is crucial because we cannot afford more injuries right now. This is always a tough decision for a manager, balancing performance with the medical team’s advice.”

“It’s true that players can get injured when playing three games in seven days, but many can handle it as well.”

“Our challenge is to train daily, assess how players are feeling, and make the best decisions,” Slot added.

It remains uncertain whether Liverpool can finish the season positively, but an eventful summer at Anfield seems likely.
