Arsenal currently stands as the top team in the Premier League but remains focused on strengthening its squad during the summer transfer window. They are in a prime position to sign Anthony Gordon, a left winger and center forward from Newcastle United.
Gordon has been one of the top goal-scorers in this season’s Champions League. While he may not be in the spotlight lately, he remains a highly sought-after and athletic forward in the Premier League transfer market.
A recent report by Charlie Wyett from The Sun indicates that Arsenal is ahead of Manchester United and Liverpool in the pursuit of Gordon, who has been a target for all three of these Big Six clubs.
Arsenal is also looking at his teammate Sandro Tonali for the midfield position. Both Arsenal and Manchester United are set to compete for these two promising young stars this summer.
With Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice already in midfield, adding a goal-scoring left winger like Gordon is crucial, especially with Gabriel Martinelli’s inconsistent form and Gabriel Jesus possibly leaving as backup for striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Liverpool is also in need of a left winger as Cody Gakpo’s performance has declined, making them miss Luis Diaz, who is performing well at Bayern Munich.
Manchester United, however, appears less in need of a new forward. Their current lineup of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Bryan Mbeumo is stable. If they want a left winger to challenge Patrick Dorgu and Cunha, Yan Diomande seems to be a higher priority.
