Trinity Rodman was injured during the U.S. Women’s National Team’s opening match of the SheBelieves Cup against Argentina on Sunday night. She took a hard hit to her back during stoppage time in the second half. Rodman, who came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, spent much of the 2025 season recovering from various injuries, including a back issue that kept her out from April to August.

As the game neared its end in Nashville, Argentina’s Milagros Martin received a yellow card after a collision with Rodman. The U.S. forward fell and was seen holding her lower back in tears. Team staff treated her on the field, and while she walked to the sidelines on her own, she did not return for the remainder of the match.

Last year, Rodman made only one appearance for the USWNT due to injuries, including an MCL sprain in October. The 23-year-old has played 97 regular season games for her club, the NWSL’s Washington Spirit, and could become the youngest player to reach 100 appearances if she stays healthy.

Rodman recently signed a record three-year contract extension with the Spirit, making her the highest-paid female player in the NWSL and globally.

It is unclear if the collision exacerbated her previous injuries or caused new ones. Head coach Emma Hayes did not have an update on Rodman’s condition after the match, stating she had not yet spoken to her or the medical staff.
