Toronto FC aims to extend its seven-week unbeaten run as they host struggling Austin FC on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 3 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses, totaling 11 points. They have conceded 11 goals while scoring 10.

Toronto has recently earned points in five consecutive matches, winning three before drawing 1-1 at home against FC Cincinnati on April 11. In that match, they benefited from a red card against Cincinnati, playing with a man advantage for the last 19 minutes, and scored an own goal by the visitors in the 83rd minute.

However, they allowed a goal during added time.

Reds coach Robin Fraser noted, “We’ve given up three goals being up a man in the last two weeks, and that should never happen. It’s always a positive that you’re picking up points.”

Toronto hasn’t lost since a 3-0 defeat at Vancouver on February 28 and is unbeaten in their last 11 home matches (4 wins, 0 losses, 7 draws) dating back to June 25, 2025.

Goalkeeper Luka Gavran stated, “We’re gaining points, and it’s better than last year when we weren’t doing that.”

Austin FC, with a record of 1 win, 3 draws, and 3 losses for a total of 6 points, is looking to break a winless streak that began on March 1. Their latest league loss was 2-1 at home to the Los Angeles Galaxy on April 11. This slump was compounded by a 2-1 defeat against Louisville City in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday.

Austin fell behind 2-0 in both matches, only managing to score late in the second half, with all their goals this season (five out of nine, including an own goal) coming from set pieces.

Coach Nico Estevez remarked, “Even though we didn’t have a good first half, we could have scored two or three goals before halftime. I think in the second half, we could score like three or four goals as well, and it’s unlucky that we didn’t.”

Midfielder Owen Wolff may return for Austin on Saturday after missing the first seven MLS matches and the U.S. Open Cup match due to sports hernia surgery.
