• Real Madrid drops points at home against 11th placed Getafe.

  • Martin Satriano scored the only goal of the match.

  • Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono and Getafe’s Adrian Liso were shown red cards.

Real Madrid was unable to gain on Barcelona in La Liga as Martin Satriano’s goal led to a 1-0 loss against Getafe, with both teams finishing with ten players.

Missing several injured players, including Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, Alvaro Arbeloa’s team faced their second consecutive league defeat. Franco Mastantuono received a red card for dissent, while Adrian Liso was sent off for time-wasting just before the end.

Getafe’s goalkeeper David Soria had a busy first 25 minutes, blocking shots from Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler. Madrid may have been fortunate not to go a man down when Antonio Rudiger hit Diego Rico with his knee.

Getafe took the lead against the run of play six minutes before halftime, with Satriano’s well-placed volley from the edge of the area sailing past Thibaut Courtois into the top-right corner.

Madrid controlled possession in the second half but faced whistle from the fans as they struggled to create chances, missing a clear opportunity in the 75th minute.

Rudiger attempted to score from a Mastantuono corner, but his header went wide of the empty net, and Dean Huijsen could not connect near the left post.

Things worsened for Madrid when referee Alejandro Muniz Ruiz issued Mastantuono a straight red card for dissent in the 95th minute. Getafe’s Liso then received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away just before the final whistle.
