Manchester City drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest, which affected their chances of catching Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
City took the lead twice at the Etihad Stadium, first through Antoine Semenyo and then Rodri, but Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson equalized for Forest, giving them a vital point.
Gibbs-White missed a clear chance against Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Semenyo scored with a volley from Rayan Cherki’s assist just after the half-hour mark.
Forest’s star player leveled the match with a clever backheel just after halftime, but Rodri restored City’s lead with a header from Rayan Ait-Nouri’s corner.
However, Forest responded again as Elliot Anderson curled a shot into the bottom-right corner from 25 yards. They nearly took the lead when Ryan Yates headed wide from a corner.
City pushed hard for a winning goal, with a few penalty appeals involving Erling Haaland and Rodri. Semenyo’s free-kick hit the roof of the net, and Savinho had a shot blocked on the line by Murillo in a thrilling finish.
As a result, City now sits seven points behind leaders Arsenal, although they have a game in hand. Forest remains outside the relegation zone by just goal difference after West Ham’s win over Fulham.
