Recent reports from FootMercato indicate a decline in Illan Meslier’s situation at Elland Road. Since January, there has been increasing speculation about his future, with interest noted from La Liga and AC Milan. Although AC Milan secured Mike Maignan with a new deal, Meslier is currently in a tough spot.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper has not played at all this season under Daniel Farke. This situation began when Farke unexpectedly benched him in March 2025, leading many to believe that the relationship between Meslier and the club has been damaged irreparably.
Despite being an important player in the team’s rise under Marcelo Bielsa, he is now just a spectator. With his contract expiring in June, he may leave the club for free, possibly returning to his former team, Lorient.
