As of March 2026, Tottenham is facing a significant crisis, with connections to Harry Redknapp emerging.
Under head coach Igor Tudor, the team has struggled badly, with no victories in 2026 and several consecutive losses, including multiple defeats in the Premier League. They are currently just one point above the relegation zone and recently suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League. The squad appears low on confidence, and leadership issues are surfacing, making survival the main concern.
Harry Redknapp, who successfully managed Spurs from 2008 to 2012, is being considered due to his track record and experience. Various pundits and former players have suggested he could be a short-term solution to help the team avoid relegation. Reports indicate that the club is looking at Redknapp along with other candidates like Sean Dyche.
Redknapp mentioned that the former CEO contacted him last week. He shared on talkSPORT:
“I got a phone call last week from Daniel. I was in the car when the call came in, and it was Daniel Levy. I spoke to him for about half an hour. He explained what had happened regarding his departure. He said to me: ‘If I was there now, I would bring you back in until the end of the season.’ So that would have been interesting.”
Redknapp hasn’t managed a team since around 2017-2018. Given his age, taking on this pressing challenge would be tough. Some experts question if he has the energy or authority to make a difference now. Although many supporters find the idea appealing, the chances of him stepping in seem slim. There hasn’t been any official contact from the club, and Redknapp isn’t waiting for it. The club will likely look for experienced options or internal solutions before considering a high-risk return to a former manager.
