Aston Villa are closely monitoring AS Roma winger Matias Soule, as the 23-year-old Argentinian becomes a notable target for the summer transfer window. Italian media outlets, including LaRoma24, Il Messaggero, and Leggo, relayed by RivistaLaRoma, have indicated that uncertainty is growing regarding Soule’s future at the Stadio Olimpico.

Aston Villa Track Matias Soule Amid AS Roma’s Financial Pressure

Roma is under pressure to generate significant capital gains before the end of June to meet financial fair play regulations, making Soule one of the players likely to be sold. Il Messaggero’s report mentions that any transfer exceeding €15 million would qualify as a capital gain for Roma.

Bournemouth is also interested in the winger, but Villa’s interest seems more substantial. As of now, no official discussions have taken place between the clubs, and Roma’s sporting director Ricky Massara has not yet approved any potential sale.

Soule’s position has been further complicated by his recent form. He has started matches against Inter, Atalanta, and Bologna since recovering from a groin injury; however, head coach Gian Piero Gasperini remains unconvinced by his performance. Italian sources indicate that Gasperini expects improvements in Soule’s output in the coming weeks, or else a transfer could be likely. RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa has been identified as a possible replacement.
