Petar Musa scored his third goal just five minutes into stoppage time, securing a thrilling 3-3 draw for FC Dallas against San Diego FC on Saturday.
Bernard Kamungo assisted Musa’s goal after a strong run into the box, battling past three San Diego defenders before Musa found the net to complete his hat trick.
Musa has now netted five goals in four games for FC Dallas, who have a record of 1-1-2 this season.
San Diego FC remains unbeaten at 3-0-1, but the team likely feels they let a win slip away after leading by two goals twice during the match.
Onni Valakari and Marcus Ingvartsen each scored penalty kicks in the first half, with Valakari adding another goal off a deflection in the 51st minute. Both have three goals this season.
A video review in the 17th minute confirmed a handball foul by Dallas defender Shaq Moore in the box. Valakari successfully converted the penalty in the 21st minute.
Ingvartsen added another penalty kick ten minutes later after Dallas defender Herman Johansson fouled David Vazquez while contesting for the ball in the box, resulting in a yellow card for Johansson.
FC Dallas responded in the 41st minute when Musa and Joaquin Valiente pressured goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega into a poor clearance. This led to a turnover deep in San Diego’s territory, with Musa scoring on his rebound after his initial shot was blocked.
The teams traded goals early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Alex Mighten delivered a precise cross to Valakari, who scored when his shot redirected off defender Nolan Norris and into the net.
Valakari’s second goal was quickly matched by Musa, who scored again from a penalty kick just three minutes later. Sisniega was penalized after colliding with Kamungo as they chased the ball into the box.
