The Minnesota Timberwolves plan to reevaluate Anthony Edwards in one to two weeks, with updates to follow. This timeline indicates that he may miss at least three games after Tuesday’s match against Phoenix.

After facing the Suns, Minnesota will host the Jazz on Wednesday and the Trail Blazers on Friday before visiting the Celtics on Sunday.

Edwards, 24, is having a standout season, averaging 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals over 35.5 minutes per game, with shooting stats of .492/.402/.796.

Having made the All-NBA second team in the past two seasons, he is aiming for first-team recognition in 2025/26. To qualify for end-of-season awards, he must participate in at least eight of Minnesota’s remaining 14 games. He has played in 58 games this season, though one appears invalid toward the 65-game minimum due to his early exit.

The Timberwolves are currently in a tight race for playoff positioning in the Western Conference. As of Tuesday, they hold the No. 6 seed with a record of 41-27, trailing the No. 4 Rockets by a half-game and leading the No. 7 Suns by two games.

Although bringing back their key player quickly is tempting, Minnesota may need him on the court sooner to secure a playoff spot.
