Stephen Curry recently commented on the possibility of playing for a team other than the Golden State Warriors before his NBA career ends.

His father, Dell, had his No. 30 jersey retired by the Charlotte Hornets. However, Dell made it clear that he would allow Steph to wear that number if he ever joined the team. When asked about this, Curry didn’t completely rule it out.

“You always keep your options open,” Curry told WSOC, via BasketNews. “I know what that means when you get your jersey retired; it’s immortalized. Nobody should be able to touch it, but yeah. I’m sure he’d be able to make a special exception if that was the case.”

Curry has not indicated any desire to leave the Warriors. He has expressed his intention to keep playing as long as possible, but it would still be surprising to see him part ways with the organization.

On the other hand, the Hornets are one team he has mentioned he might consider, even if it’s unlikely.

Curry is contracted with the Warriors through next season, and he may reevaluate his options at that time.
