The New Nissan Stadium is becoming a prominent feature in downtown Nashville. Whether viewed from above or while driving by, the construction next to the current Nissan Stadium is progressing rapidly.
The Titans will move into their new stadium next February and recently hosted a media tour showcasing the progress. Here’s an update on what was observed.
Sights and Updates from New Nissan Stadium
To start, here’s a panoramic video of the seating area from the 300 level concourse.
The scale of the structure is impressive. Once more details like field markings and individual seats are added, the true size will be clearer.
Surprisingly, the stadium might feel more intimate than expected. While its capacity will be similar to the old stadium (60,000 versus 69,000), the design creates a closer experience to the action. It seems there may not be a bad seat in the house, especially in the upper deck.
Its sightlines are comparable to modern stadiums, allowing even the cheapest tickets to offer good value. In contrast, the current Nissan Stadium has many poor-view seats.
The next video highlights a key part of the construction: the installation of the roof. A cable lattice structure has been set up over the bowl.
Hydraulic systems will tighten the roof cables by September or October, with clear ETFE roofing material securing the structure. This will complete the enclosure of the indoor venue.

The large white wall visible in the background will highlight Tennessee high school football, including girls’ flag football teams. Here’s a video of the walkthrough in the 100-level concourse.
During earlier tours, the structure was mainly exposed, but now with more walls and drywall, the public spaces are beginning to take shape. This also improves the overall atmosphere; these concourses are spacious and inviting.
Gone are the cramped, concrete corridors. The new layout resembles a modern mall or airport, a significant improvement from the current Nissan Stadium.
There are renderings available showing the intended final look of the stadium, indicating that plans are still being refined.
Here are some interesting comparisons between the new and old stadiums:
- The old Nissan Stadium has 4 escalators and 6 elevators; the new one will feature 44 escalators and 27 elevators.
- New markets will eliminate long lines, utilizing Amazon technology that allows fans to take items and leave without waiting in line.
- The current team store is about 4,000 square feet, while the new store will be 11,000 square feet, with three additional satellite stores.
Here’s a first look at the new Titans locker room, which is under construction.
The new locker room will be 50% larger, accommodating the entire offseason roster. Currently, half the team uses a secondary locker room. It will include dedicated meeting rooms, improved facilities for female staff, and 68 larger lockers.
