During most of the 2025-26 NBA season, Jaylen Brown has been important for the Boston Celtics while Jayson Tatum was out. However, in Boston’s playoff-clinching victory against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, Tatum took over as he returned from injury, with Brown sidelined due to Achilles tendonitis.
In his 11th game back after dealing with his own Achilles issue, Tatum scored 32 points on 12-of-23 shooting, along with eight assists and five rebounds, leading the Celtics to a 114-99 road win. This victory secured their 12th consecutive playoff spot and marked Tatum’s first time scoring over 30 points this season, a feat he achieved 28 times last year.
