Wishing a happy 61st birthday to former NBA All-Star, 1987-88 Rookie of the Year, and 1996-97 assists champion, Mark Jackson!

Jackson was selected by the New York Knicks as a first-round pick in the 1987 NBA Draft after playing at St. John’s. He made an immediate impact, averaging 13.6 points and 10.6 assists per game with 80 starts in his rookie season. The following year, he achieved his only All-Star selection, scoring a career-high 16.9 points per game for a Knicks team that lost to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Over his 17-season career, Jackson led the NBA in assists per game with 11.4 during the 1996-97 season while playing for the Nuggets and Pacers. After retiring as a player, he took on coaching roles with the Golden State Warriors and worked as an NBA color commentator.

Now, here’s a quiz for you: How many players can you name who averaged the most assists per game in each NBA season in just five minutes?

Good luck!
