Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers sustained a serious hamstring injury during the match against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. This injury may cause him to be sidelined for a significant amount of time, which isn’t good news for the Lakers or his hopes for NBA awards this season.
Luka Doncic May Miss Rest of the Season
Shams Charania reported on Friday that Doncic is out indefinitely and likely to miss the rest of the regular season.
The Lakers face additional uncertainty, as Doncic may also be unavailable beyond the regular season, according to Charania.
Doncic’s absence is critical for the Lakers, as he is a vital part of their success and a key reason they are competitive in the Western Conference. If he doesn’t return for the playoffs or isn’t fully healthy, it could greatly reduce their chances of contending for the Western Conference title and making it to the NBA Finals.
Moreover, Doncic has only participated in 64 games this season. If he doesn’t play again, he won’t meet the 65-game requirement for NBA honors.
