Both sides have agreed to try starting over with a clean slate.
Romelu Lukaku will continue playing for Napoli following a recent meeting with club executives. The 32-year-old striker met with officials to clear the air after his unexpected departure to Belgium without prior notification to the club.
The discussion reportedly took place in a calm atmosphere, where both parties agreed that Lukaku would travel to Belgium today for injury recovery under the supervision of the club’s medical staff. He is expected to return to Italy afterward to resume playing for Napoli.
There are no longer discussions about Lukaku facing suspension or exclusion from the squad. Since joining Napoli from Chelsea in 2024 for €30 million, he has appeared in 45 matches, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists. His current transfer value is estimated at €12 million, according to Transfermarkt.
