Roberto Mancini, the current head coach of Al Sadd, has sparked speculation about his future with Italy’s national team after giving an ambiguous response in a recent interview. At 61 years old, Mancini was questioned about the possibility of returning to his previous role as head coach of the Azzurri.

Mancini refrained from providing a direct answer, further igniting curiosity among fans. He remarked,

“My return to the Italy job? Next question… In recent years, Italy has won more than Germany. The young player who impressed me the most is Palestra. Cancelleri also has excellent qualities, but he doesn’t get much attention. Malagò as a suitable candidate for FIGC? I don’t know…”

During his previous tenure from 2018 to 2023, Mancini oversaw 61 matches, achieving 39 wins, 13 draws, and 9 losses. His notable accomplishment as head coach was leading Italy to victory in Euro 2020.

Additionally, it has been reported that the Italy national team could be affected by sanctions against Iran, potentially impacting their qualification for the World Cup.
