Elye Wahi, the Ivorian striker on loan at Nice from Frankfurt, has made a significant impact this season, which has led the French club’s management to express a strong desire to retain him beyond the current loan period.

Since joining Nice in January, Wahi has scored four goals and provided one assist in 11 Ligue 1 matches. His performance has captured the attention of the management, prompting them to consider options for extending his stay.

We’d very much like to keep Elye Wahi. He’s a very likeable lad. We haven’t had any discussions with Frankfurt yet, and we can’t have any until we know whether we’ll be in Ligue 1 next season. We’d like to extend his loan.

Deputy vice-president of Nice, Maurice Cohen, indicated that the club’s intentions regarding Wahi are clear, though discussions with Frankfurt will only take place once their own league status is confirmed for next season.
