Tottenham Aims for First Premier League Win of 2026 Against Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur visits Molineux to take on Wolves on Saturday, desperate to secure their first Premier League victory of the year.

Currently, Spurs are two points away from safety and have yet to win a Premier League match this calendar year. A stoppage-time equaliser from Brighton forward Georginio Rutter last weekend dashed Spurs’ hopes, leading players to collapse in despair at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The situation worsened for Roberto De Zerbi’s squad after Nottingham Forest gained eight points of separation from Tottenham with decisive wins over Burnley and Sunderland.

Despite these challenges, Tottenham demonstrated notable improvement in a recent 2-2 draw with Brighton at home. De Zerbi hopes to capitalize on that progress as his team faces Wolves, who confirmed their relegation earlier this week. However, the Wanderers could still pose a threat to Spurs, having recently defeated Liverpool and Aston Villa while managing a draw against Arsenal.

Roberto De Zerbi Believes One Win Can Shift Tottenham’s Season

The North Londoners need to snap a 15-game winless streak to reignite their battle against relegation. De Zerbi remains optimistic, asserting that his players can win all five remaining matches to stay in the Premier League.

“Sometimes when one team is losing too many games the rumours are not nice, and behaviour and the people speak about not too much serious players, but no, it is not like this in this case,” De Zerbi stated during a press conference (h/t ESPN FC).

“I found good players, good guys, serious players, and they follow me. They believe in my words because I am able to recognise the eyes of the players.

“We are suffering, they are suffering because it is not easy to play in Tottenham in this condition of the table, but I said they have to be stronger and they have to live to win a game.

“We have to live every part of the day waiting for a win and preparing for a win because I think with a win we can change this part of the season.”
